Slab Leak Repair in Mesa, AZ

A lot of Mesa homes sit on slab-on-grade foundations, with water lines running through or beneath the concrete. Mesa’s water hardness ranges from 12 to 22 grains per gallon depending on the source blend, according to the City of Mesa. That’s a lot of mineral content, and over time it can be rough on plumbing beneath the slab.

Mesa also has plenty of homes built between 1978 and 1995, when polybutylene pipe was widely used in US residential construction. That material can deteriorate over time as oxidants in the water attack the pipe from the inside. If you’ve got an older Mesa home with original polybutylene still in place, a slab or supply line leak is something to take seriously.

We handle the whole job, from non-invasive leak detection through spot repair, epoxy lining, pipe rerouting, and full repiping when that’s the better call. Every project starts with written findings and a written quote before any concrete is touched.

Why Choose Evolution

Why Mesa Homeowners Choose Us for Slab Leak Repair

Detection Before Demolition

We use acoustic microphones, thermal imaging, and electronic leak detection to narrow down where the leak is before opening concrete. The goal is a targeted access point, not cutting into your floor and hoping we’re in the right place.

Written Report and Quote Before Any Work Begins

You’ll get written detection findings and a full written repair quote before any concrete is touched. You’ll know what we found, where the problem is, and what it’ll cost to fix before you commit to the repair.

Same Team, Start to Finish

The same team that diagnoses the problem handles the repair. No handoff and no explaining the whole thing again to somebody new.

Protects Your Foundation and Flooring

A slab leak can keep feeding water beneath the house long before you see much happening above the floor. Catching it early helps keep a plumbing problem from turning into a much bigger problem with flooring, walls, or the foundation.

Stops Water Damage Before It Spreads

Wet building materials can begin growing mold within 24 to 48 hours according to EPA guidance. Finding the leak quickly and making a targeted repair keeps that window as short as possible.

Same-Day and Emergency Response

An active slab leak can’t always wait. We offer same-day and emergency response across Mesa and the East Valley, Monday through Saturday from 7am to 7pm, with Sunday emergency service available.

Upfront Written Pricing

You’ll know the number before we cut anything, not after. Once you’ve approved the repair, you know what you’re agreeing to before the work starts.

Licensed Local Plumbers

Every visit is handled by one of our own licensed plumbers, ROC 330753, never a subcontractor. We know the slab construction and plumbing systems common in Mesa and across the East Valley.

Justin at Evolution Plumbing and Misting is my hero! I can’t recommend him enough. I had an emergency plumbing situation with my water heater expansion tank leaking and causing water damage in my garage, and he came through quickly and handled the repair from start to finish. Justin was personable, friendly, and very professional. He clearly explained what needed to be done for the water heater repair and leak issue, without any pressure or upselling. As a single mom, that honesty and clarity meant a lot and made a stressful situation so much easier. He also took the time to help with a few other plumbing items in my home and gave me helpful advice on what to watch for in the future, which I really appreciated. I’m so grateful for his help and will definitely be calling Evolution Plumbing and Misting again for any plumbing or emergency plumbing needs. Highly recommend!

Our Slab Leak Repair Services

01

Slab Leak Detection

We use acoustic ground microphones, thermal imaging cameras, and electronic leak detection equipment to narrow down where the leak is beneath the slab before any concrete is touched.

We also start with meter and pressure checks to confirm what the plumbing is doing before we start scanning. The point is to work from evidence, not start opening floors on a hunch.

02

Spot Repair

If you’ve got one isolated leak and the rest of the line is in good shape, a spot repair is usually the most straightforward option. We open a targeted access point at the confirmed leak location, make the repair, pressure test the line, and reinstate the concrete and surface finish.

When the rest of the pipe is sound, there’s no reason to turn one bad section into a bigger job than it needs to be.

03

Lining, Rerouting, and Full Repipe

If the condition of the pipe makes a spot repair a short-term answer, we’ll tell you.

Where the pipe’s still structurally sound but failing at one point, an epoxy liner cured in place can seal the leak without any digging or major concrete work. For more extensive damage, we can reroute the affected section overhead or through walls, bypassing the damaged run beneath the slab. And if there’s widespread corrosion, multiple previous leaks, or original polybutylene throughout the home, a full repipe may make more sense than fixing one failure at a time.

How We Work

How the Repair Process Works

  • 01

    Meter and Pressure Check

We start by checking the meter and plumbing pressure to confirm the leak and help narrow down which part of the system is affected before scanning begins.

  • 02

    Detection

Acoustic microphones, thermal imaging, and electronic leak detection help us narrow down where the fault sits, so we’re not opening concrete on a guess.

  • 03

    Written Quote

We’ll walk you through the repair options, whether that’s a spot repair, reroute, lining, or repipe, and give you a clear written price before work begins. You’ll know what we’re recommending and why before you decide how to proceed.

  • 04

    Repair and Pressure Test

Our licensed team carries out the agreed repair and pressure tests the system when we’re done. Once we’ve confirmed the repair, we reinstate the surface and sign off the work.

    Slab Leak Repair Options

Repair, Reroute, Line or Repipe: Which Is Right for Your Home?

Not every slab leak needs the same repair. Here’s how the four main options compare.

    Spot Repair

Best for one confirmed leak on an otherwise healthy line.

We open a single access point at the exact spot the camera and detection equipment identified, make the repair, and close it back up. If nothing else on the line shows signs of wear, there’s no reason to touch more of it.

    Pipe Rerouting

Best for damaged sections that are hard to reach, or homes where opening the slab again isn't worth it.

The damaged section is capped and bypassed with a new line run overhead or through the walls, avoiding further work beneath the foundation.

    Epoxy Pipe Lining

Best for pipe that's still sound structurally but failing at one point.

Rather than cutting into anything, a liner is fed through the existing pipe and cured in place, sealing the leak from the inside. No trenching, no slab work.

    Full Repipe

Best for homes with original polybutylene, corrosion spreading through the system, or leaks that keep coming back in different spots.

At that point you’re not fixing a leak, you’re replacing a system that’s reaching the end of its life. Give us a call and describe what’s been happening, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s time to consider this.

Not sure which method you need? Describe your symptoms when you call and we’ll recommend the right approach.

    Transparent Pricing

Slab Leak Repair, Priced for Your Job

No two slab leak repairs cost the same, because no two leaks are the same. Where it sits, how hard it is to reach, the pipe material, and whether it’s a spot repair, reroute, lining, or full repipe are what actually set the number, not a flat rate off a price list. Once we’ve located the leak, you’ll have the full cost in writing before any concrete comes up.

    Book a Repair

    What's included in every visit:

    • Full meter and pressure check to confirm the leak and help identify the affected line
    • Non-invasive detection using acoustic, thermal, and electronic methods
    • Written detection findings before the repair quote is issued
    • Full written repair quote before any concrete is opened
    • Repair carried out by a licensed plumber, ROC 330753
    • Full pressure test on completion before sign-off
    • Workmanship guarantee on every spot repair, reroute, lining and repipe

Final price depends on the detection required, repair approach, pipe material, and access. Call us at (480) 662-6555 for same-day attendance or to talk through what’s happening before you book.

    Common Questions

    Slab Leak Repair FAQs

What are the signs of a slab leak in a Mesa home?

A warm patch on the floor, a water meter that keeps moving when everything’s off, a water bill that jumps and stays high, damp or discolored flooring, or the sound of running water beneath the floor when nothing’s on are all signs worth paying attention to.

You don’t need to see water coming through the floor to have a slab leak. That’s what makes them easy to miss.

How do you find a slab leak without breaking the floor?

We use acoustic ground microphones to listen for water escaping beneath the concrete, along with thermal imaging and electronic leak detection to help narrow down the pipe and leak location.

The whole point is to locate the problem before we start opening the floor.

Does homeowners insurance cover a slab leak in Mesa?

It depends on your policy and how the damage happened. Sudden water damage may be treated differently from gradual seepage, deterioration, or wear over time.

Leak detection, opening the floor or wall, repairing the failed pipe, and repairing the resulting water damage may also be treated differently under the same policy. Check your actual policy and insurer, and keep the detection findings, photos, and repair documentation if you’re making a claim.

Can a slab leak fix itself?

No. If a pipe or fitting has failed, it needs to be repaired, rerouted, or replaced. Waiting doesn’t fix the pipe. It just gives the leak more time to waste water and spread moisture beneath the house.

How does Mesa's hard water cause slab leaks?

Mesa’s water can be hard, and mineral-heavy water is one of the things that can contribute to wear and corrosion in a plumbing system over time. But when we’re diagnosing a slab leak, we look at the whole picture: pipe material, age, previous repairs, corrosion, installation, and the condition of the line itself.

Do I need to break up my floor for a slab leak repair?

Not always. Leak detection lets us narrow down the problem before any concrete is opened.

If a spot repair is the right option, that may mean one targeted access point at the leak. If rerouting the line makes more sense, we may be able to bypass the damaged section without opening the slab at the leak at all.

How long does a slab leak repair take in Mesa?

A straightforward spot repair on an accessible line can often be completed in a single day once we’ve located the leak. Reroutes and full repipes take longer depending on the size of the home, access, and how much plumbing needs to be replaced.

We’ll give you a realistic timeline after detection, when we actually know what we’re dealing with.

What is the difference between a spot repair and a repipe?

A spot repair fixes one isolated failure. A repipe replaces the home’s supply plumbing.

Which one makes sense depends on the pipe material, overall condition, corrosion, and whether you’ve already had other leaks. We’ll show you what we found and walk you through the options before you decide.
